Rocket-Boi Concepts was created and developed by Cape Town based designer and Illustrator Malcolm XY. After 3 years of study in the field of architecture, Malcolm graduated and decided to branch off becoming a comic artist for STRIKA entertainment. A year later the decision was made to fuse his passions residing in both illustration and the sport of "tricking" to further spread his work and ideas. So what now? Malcolm spends his days collecting comics and being a freelance illustrator, producing prints on both canvas and t-shirts.
Check out his range at Shelflife now!
Hoods: R455/ T-shirts: R240/Vests: R210 Apparently a "Rocket-Boi" is a trick performed by doing a back flip while both legs are piked in front of you with your one hand grabbing your ankle. This trick was created by pro tricker Daniel Graham. In Malcolm’s words its “…one of the illest tricks out there…”
Nike is honoring the Air Force 1 with a pinnacle footwear collection as the shoe approaches its 30th birthday. Launching March 3 worldwide, the Nike Air Force 1 Pearl Collection begins with three colourways and premium design details representing the shoe’s three-decade legacy. We have confirmation that we will be receiving 2 of the 3 colourways. The first colourway within the collection is the Air Force 1 Lux MX Air ‘08 featuring a full-length visible Air Max unit, a first for the AF1, with a Mother of Pearl-inspired reflectivity throughout the upper. It’s inspired by the original colourway and remixed with Vac-Tech construction. The second drop is a low top with an all-white reflective upper, translucent milky-white midsole, and is a crisp modernization of a classic. Each of the styles within the collection carry some consistent design cues including Mother of Pearl-finished deubres and aglets for the laces, retro AF1 grid graphic on the sockliner, and special edition pearlized finished box with commemorative tissue wrapping.

New Balance Japan continues to collaborate with some of the most iconic names in Asian fashion. In this case teaming up with Frapbois, the notoriously lateral-thinking clothing label. The shoe itself adds dalmation print leather and yellow accents to the classic ML574 runner, to give a bold, contempary look. Consisting of Dalmation print uppers, dual branded printed insole, and an encap absorption system.
Frapbois’s clothing is known best for its sharp, flattering cut lines and its willingness to experiment with designs and start new trends. Originated in the Daikanyama neighborhood of Aoyama, Frabois has become a focus point of the area, thanks to its willingness to cater to its hip, urban customer base.
